Q: What age do kids start t-ball?
A: T-ball is geared for kids ages 5-6 years old, however if a player is 4 and turning 5 during the season they may also join.

Q: What will my child's schedule be?
A: Typically each team will have 1 practice per week and play 2 games per week, this does vary somewhat depending on the number of teams. Games are usually Saturdays in the morning or early afternoon, and another game during a week night which are played 6:30 & 8:30 (earlier for younger players, later for 10+ age groups). Practices are scheduled by the manager/coach when it is best suited for the team. Unless there is a special event or tournament, games are generally not played on Sundays or Fridays.

Q: What is the try-out and how will my child be placed on a team?
A: Try-outs are held prior to the season starting in order for managers/coaches to view players and evaluate who they might like on their team. This enables a draft to take place so that teams can be selected in a fair and balanced method. All players will make it on a team.

Q: Who are the coaches? Who are the Umpires?
A: Coaches are all parents, siblings, family, or friends interested in volunteering and helping make a good experience for the children. We offer assistance and training for new coaches that would like it. Umpires are parents, siblings, family, or friends interested in volunteering in a vital way as well!  We offer assistance and training for umpires throughout the year and hold clinics every season.

Q: What might my child need to play baseball/softball?
A: Kids should definitely bring a fielding glove (how to fit a glove) and some water! Items that are recommended: Baseball/Softball cleats, a bat (how to choose a bat), and batting helmet.

Q: When is registration and what do I need to bring?
A: We do accept registrations online and in person. Registration for Fall ball is usually during August, while registration for Spring ball is during January. All Players will need to provide proof of residence, have a valid City of Oldsmar Rec Card, and have a birth certificate.

Q: What does the registration fee cover?
A: The league registration fee covers each players uniform, little league insurance, field & game equipment, lighting costs, trash pickup, as well as other operating costs. The league is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. If you cannot afford the fee we do everything possible to assist. We can work with flexible payment plans or even partial to full scholarships.

Q: What is the difference between Fall and Spring seasons?
A: The fall season is typically between September and November and is geared more toward instruction.  Oldsmar little league offers clinics for softball and baseball during the fall season. The spring season is typically the end of February through May and offers more competitive play for the upper divisions, leading to All-Stars selection.

Q: What if my child plays baseball/softball for their school also?
A: Little league exempts players who miss regular season games in order to play for their school. This allows players playing school ball to also play little league and still be eligible for all stars.

Q: Who do I talk to if I have concerns about my child and/or my child's coach?
A: If there is any questions, concerns, or complaints regarding a child's team or coach please get in touch with the division VP and/or the Player Agent. It is their job to ensure players are treated as fairly and in the spirit of little league. Issues can and will be discussed with the Board of directors and action may be taken if needed.

Q: What is All Stars?
A: Players wishing to play in the competitive levels of little league international tournament (aka The little league world series) would fill out a letter of intent and then be voted to the team by his/her peers and coaches. Teams are by age group, 9/10, 10/11, 11/12, Juniors, and Seniors.
